’Alpha & Omega’, together with ’The Passion’, is one of Adrian’s best-known and most beloved works. In the Netherlands, hundreds of choirs have sung the work or parts of it and it is not without reason that this country was the setting for the recording of a new version in 2017. Since then, world news has shown that the work loses none of its relevance. In fact; the message of ’Alpha + Omega’ sounds louder than ever and will be live again in various places in the Netherlands in October. Adrian will perform the work again together with a full band, choir and special support act.
Conflicts in the world, but the Holocaust in particular, prompted the Adrian to embark on a journey of discovery in the early 1980s. He searched for the roots of his faith, against the background of the deep darkness of the Holocaust and the big questions that war brings. Adrian developed the reconciliation story between God and man in a true masterpiece: ’Alpha + Omega’, with songs such as ’I Am The Way’, ’Lord Have Mercy’ and the famous title song. ’Lord Have Mercy’ is still sung in Dutch churches to this day (as ’Vader Vol Van Vrees en Schaamte’).
In October, Adrian will give three concerts with a band (including Frank van Essen, Rineke de Wit, Sera Noa, Luca Genta and Jan-Peter Beijersbergen) and a project choir from The Choir Company conducted by Maarten Wassink. Veenendaal, Oud-Beijerland and Zwolle are also the setting for a support act in which Adrian celebrates a special anniversary. It will be 50 years ago that he recorded his very first songs for his debut ’Fireflake’. Together with Rineke de Wit and Sera Noa, among others, he will perform various songs from that album - in a new musical guise especially for this tour!
